My background

I grew up in a creative family, surrounded by inspiration. My grandmother a painter, my grandfather a wood carver, and my brother had a natural gift for drawing. Watching them create made an impact early in my life and I spent days on end tracing and drawing comics as a kid. That’s what sparked my love for art and design, and put me on the path I’m still on today.

Finding my direction

When I started college, I planned to become an art teacher. Then one day, I saw a typographic poster that completely changed how I thought about design. It was simple, beautiful, and powerful. I was hooked. The next day, I changed my major to graphic design and dove headfirst into learning everything I could about grids, color theory, and the principles that have shaped my work.

Soon after college, I joined IBM as a junior designer, where I had the opportunity to travel and consult with numerous high-profile clients. During this time, I honed a systems-thinking approach that became instrumental in my growth as a product designer. This mindset, combined with my strong visual design skills, earned me a spot on the Apple + IBM enterprise partnership team—a role that challenged me to stretch and refine my expertise.

The experience exposed me to IBM’s top design leaders, Apple’s design evangelists, subject matter experts across diverse industries, and engineers capable of bringing any idea to life. For nearly two years, I made weekly eight-hour trips to Cupertino, immersing myself in an unparalleled learning experience. Building dozens of iOS apps during that time became my real education, and I am deeply grateful for how it shaped my skills and career trajectory.

Current endeavors

Today, I’m a Senior Product Designer at IBM. My focus is on design systems, AI, collaboration, mentorship, and building innovative solutions. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring creative side projects like woodworking, drawing with my kids, and building websites for small businesses and friends.

What’s next

Looking ahead, I’m committed to learning, collaborating, mentoring, and creating designs that make a real difference. My journey so far has been about creativity, adaptability, and growth, and I'm looking forward to where this leads me too next.
